Strikethru is a simple analog system to help you complete tasks and bring order to your life. It can be summed up in one sentence: Brainstorm using The Dump, create to-do lists in The Vault, mark any date specific tasks and appointments in The Calendar, and finally feed all these into The Live List when they're ready to be worked on.

Customize your Strikethru system to suit your needs.

You can set-up any notebook to use a basic but functional Strikethru system. Start with The Dump section for collecting your to-dos and The Live List to identify what needs done right now. That's it. Simple, functional, life changing.

This set-up adds a bit more detail to your system. Along with the Dump Section and Live List from the Lite set-up, you also add The Vault section to create predefined lists like To-do This Month or Goals For This Year.

Busy bees need to be able to handle all sorts of tasks, appointments and goals. The addition of The Calendar section to your Strikethru notebook means you can schedule items for a certain day, week or month.

Strikethru can be used in conjunction with other productivity tools.

Pomodoro Technique®

The Pomodoro Technique is simple - you work on a task for 25 minutes straight, then take a 5 minute break. After you've completed 4 of these 25 minute sessions you take a longer rest of 20 minutes. You can apply this method when working through tasks on your Live List each day.

The 1-3-5 Rule

The 1-3-5 Rule is useful to prioritize tasks on any given day. It's based on the idea that each day you should aim to work on 5 simple tasks, 3 medium size tasks and 1 large task. The Live List in Strikethru is set up for 9 items so it fits this method perfectly.

The Kanban approach was invented by Toyota to manage their to-dos. The basic idea is to create boards for 'to-do', 'doing' and 'done' tasks. This can be used in Strikethru by creating a 'to-do' list in the Dump/Vault, using the Live List for 'doing' and creating a 'done' list in the Vault.

"There are few things in life as satisfying as putting a line through a task you've just completed. It's up there with flipping your pillow on a hot night or kicking off your shoes after a hard days graft."
